about

The Glimmer Stars Demos (2000-2003)

Recorded between 2000-2003 by Chris Lizotte and Glen Meredith, respectively, these six songs would make up the bulk of what would be two very limited-edition custom demo singles and two very limited-edition custom demo EPs. In early 2000, the group - then a trio: Mini Mendez, Mark Schrock, and Tony Snow, began recording with Orange County producer, Chris Lizotte, and in September of ‘00, released a limited-edition (25 copies) custom demo single with two songs - Marcella/Sugar Blue - for the band’s Glass House show that same month. In 2002, The G-Stars began piecing together songs with Glen Meredith (singer/songwriter of All The Madmen) at the recording helm, and in 2003, the Good Thing EP (50 copies) was released for the group’s first International Pop Overthrow Los Angeles show. The following year, Better Luck Last Time, a four song offering (only 25 copies) was made available for the band’s handful of House Of Blues Anaheim gigs in the spring and summer of 2004.
Marcella, Sugar Blue, Good Thing, and One Glorious Moment, would later be re-recorded for the group’s full-length debut release in 2005, while Prettiest One would see the light of day as a flashback single in 2014.
